The Gandini designed Quattroporte IV was introduced in April 1994 and the successor of the till 1990 produced Quattroporte III. The Quattroporte IV used the biturbo engine technique and with the Ghibli 2 it was the start of rebuilding the quality of the brand and its product after the Detomaso era.
The Quattroporte Evoluzione (Evo) model came after Ferrari took full ownership of Maserati in 1997 and benefitted from many improvements. It is said that the Evo has over 400 improvements versus the pre-Ferrari produced Quattroporte’s. We keep this number in the middle but for sure improvements have been made in quality control and technical specs, to make the Evo version the most sought Quarttroporte IV for those in the market for this particular elegant model.
Around 500 Evo’s with the V8 3,2 liter engine in combination with the automatic gearbox have been produced which makes it rare to find especially with a relative low mileage of not even 75.000 kilometers, full service history included and a new service from one of Hollands most leading Maserati specialists.
This Evo from 2000 is one of the later produced Evo’s and is a 2 owner car imported by ourselves from Switzerland. The last owner (DoB 1940) has kept the car for the last 11 years. All documents available.
With its Blu Nettuno metallic paint the Quattroporte Evo looks great as the lines, curves and exclusive details of the Gandini design are nicely highlighted through this colour. The Evo is free from accident history/ repairs and no rust. All panels are original. The paint condition is remarkably good with no stone chips and little to no wear and tear for a car this age. All lights are free from cracks and windows around are perfect and original Maserati supplied. The 17 inch wheels are in perfect condition as well and fitted with good Continental tires.
If there is one thing that stands out, its the interior design. A really stunning combination of leather and wood creates a luxury feel inside but in combination with the blue exterior it comes across even ‘sporty’. As what we see often with Swiss supplied cars, the overall interior is in a beautiful state. The leather looks good with the backseat rarely used. All carpets are clean from this non-smoking Quattroporte. All electrics are working. The car is supplied with the original Becker Traffic Pro including radio codes and books.
Engine / transmission
Once decided you want to go for a Quattroporte IV, go for the V8. With 336 Bhp/ 450Nm this is truly a wolf in sheepskin. With the automatic gearbox you can drive this car very smooth as a limousine but when you want, you can kick down this car from 0-100 in just over 5 seconds and with a top of 270 km/h it produces sports car numbers.
The engine bay is extremely clean and well maintained and the 3.2 liter V8 engine itself performs well with healthy oil and (bi)turbo pressure. The car has a full service history with stamped book and many invoices from Switzerland and received new service here in the Netherlands at one of the most leading Maserati specialist Franco. Including in the service are belts, fluids etc and a full check including test drive. All keys (including the red one) and books are included as well.
